American Revolution: Writing a Breakup Letter to King George

Starter

Say:"At present, I know some of you have a pregnant other... and don't lie, I run across you lot making goo-goo optics with each other during luncheon, but have you always felt like breaking up with your significant other? (Allow a response). Without getting too personal, what was the reason for wanting to break upwards? (Let a respond).

Possible answers may include:

Not spending enough time with each other
Like someone else
Don't desire to be in a relationship anymore
Desire more freedom as a single person

Primary

Say: "Those are all fantabulous answers, merely wait, uhhh, what is this? Who dropped this note with hearts on my tabular array?" (The students volition exist unaware that you had placed the note on the table before the lesson began). "Should I read it aloud??" (Your students volition be giddy at this point, keep with opening and reading the note).

Say:"I'one thousand not sure where to begin, but I need to get this off my chest. Recently, I've been thinking a lot about us. Things used to be fantastic, and I truly believed we would final forever, but things take changed. I experience like I lost value in your eyes, and you don't consider my stance anymore. And worst of all, you practice whatever y'all please without thinking about u.s. as a couple. I deserve Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. So, I've been thinking about information technology for a while, but we need to pause-up." (At this point, your students volition be interested to know who wrote the letter of the alphabet, so wait for them to convince you to read out the name). "Sincerely, the 13 Colonies."

(Students volition be rowdy thinking that you lot actually received a notation from a beloved interest, but this is a fun mode to introduce the lesson.)

Your neighbor

Become approval from me for a suspension-up for things/person not on the list in a higher place.
